Every Child Bay (ECB) is an inclusive preschool rooted in Reggio-Emilia philosophy and evidence-based developmental practices for children aged 2-6 years. We utilize naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions, including the Group-based Early Start Denver Model (G-ESDM), to ensure that all children (including those with disabilities) receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
Reggio Emilia
The Reggio Emilia philosophical approach to early childhood education places the child at the center of their learning experience. Children co-direct their journey toward mastering important skills and concepts, while teachers use provocations based on each child’s interests to inspire children to engage with their surroundings and develop a thoughtful understanding of the world around them.
In keeping with Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe that the environment plays a crucial role in a child’s development, and we consider it the “third teacher” alongside our staff and children. Children thrive in environments that support their natural curiosity and desire to learn. That’s why we have designed an enriched physical, relational, and temporal environment that promotes engagement, socialization, and learning. Our physical classroom environment stimulates children’s motivation and engagement while also teaching them responsibility and care for their communal spaces. We also provide a relational environment that supports social learning and encourages children to develop their communication and collaboration skills. Finally, our temporal environment is carefully organized to support learning and scaffold competencies in an interdependent manner, helping each child reach their full potential.
Group-based Early Start Denver Model
Group-based Early Start Denver Model (G-ESDM) is a developmentally based curriculum designed to support young children on the autism spectrum. The G-ESDM emphasizes the power of everyday routines in teaching children self-care, environmental responsibility, and social relationships. We recognize that each child is unique and strive to identify their interests and emerging skills to motivate them in their learning journey. Through our daily routines, we provide opportunities for children to develop independence and social connections through participation in a supportive and engaging environment. The G-ESDM is a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention that attends to all aspects of development, including intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth for children with and without autism.
